Summary Responsible for responding to requests by producing work orders, coordinating repair services and documenting warranty requirements. Also, responsible for providing a high level of customer service.
Salary: $17 - $21/depending on qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Listen and interpret customer requests for equipment/vehicle service and repairs.
- Record needed service and repairs in the Fleet focus FA application and generate a work order.
- Coordinate repairs to equipment/vehicles by outside vendors as needed.
- Take digital photos of damage if needed and contact vendors for estimates, arrange replacement vehicle and deliver damaged vehicle to vendor.
- Enter or update requisitions and purchase orders as needed to pay for outside vendor services.
- Coordinate timely building, car wash and stationary shop equipment repair with outside vendors.
- May issue payment(s) for design repair invoices with City-issued P-Card.
Minimum Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years related experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications Education/ Experience:
- 6 months - 1 year vocational training in automotive repair or maintenance scheduling
- 2 - 4 years experience writing and scheduling work orders
- ASE Certification in one or more areas
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Skill in operating personal computer and related software applications
- Knowledge of service/work order communication and tracking
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of accounting and billing procedures
- Typing skills, minimum of 40 wpm
- Ability to multi-task between calls, in-person customers, and radio service requests
Licenses and Certifications Valid Class C Texas driver's license
Physical Requirements / Work Environment The incumbent works in a fleet shop environment; occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Occasional outside work.
