Job Summary: Set up, take apart, and operate extruders, fabrication, and auxiliary equipment for single, dual and tri-extension operations. Work Performed -Responsible for following all company safety policies and procedure and maintenance a safe, organized and clean work area. Also reports any safety policy violations or observed unsafe conditions to the immediate supervisor or safety committee chairman-Determines needed equipment for each product and sets up and runs parts to established specification and efficient standards -Changes/adjusts operating conditions as necessary to maintain quality-Fills hopper with specified material as required and maintains clean work area. -Packs product/directs material handler to package as required-Conducts product quality checks as required and completes paperwork legibly and in accordance with established procedures -Trains new operator/material handlers as directed by the supervisor-Operates grinder as required and performs other related duties as assigned-Inspects, cleans, organizes, and maintains dies, calibrators, tooling, as directedJob RequirementsAttendance Requirement attendance of 40 hours per week during assigned work shift. Education required :High school degree, and two year tech degree desiredExperience Required:1-3 years plastics processing experience operating extruders and fabrication equipmentSkills Required: -Strong mechanical aptitude(mechanical test to take during interview) -good math and verbal skills, good self confidence, ability to read blueprints and use precision instruments such as calipers and optical comparators.- Ability to use variety of hand and small power tools. -Ability to stand 50%, walk 40%, sit 10% of the time, stoop, bend, twist, kneel and lift 50 lbs Equipment used: Extruders, hoppers, dies, calibration equipment, punches, cut-off equipment, precision measuring instruments, derinders, fork truck, hand and power tolls, scales, computer terminals, optical comparators, downstream equipment, sandblaster, cooker
