Reporting to the Platform Services/DevSecOps Leader, the DevSecOps & Cloud Platform Services Intern will work as part of Interac’s platform architecture team to develop and deliver technical solutions on public and private clouds. As part of the architectural team, this intern can expect to collaborate with highly-technical colleagues to solve problems within the payment space.
You’ll be responsible for:
Supporting the Cloud Engineering team to develop and deliver services on public cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services & Azure)
Participating in squads focusing on maturing Interac’s cloud practices and tools
Contributing to the designing solutions for a variety of digital transformation initiatives and managing existing infrastructure across Interac
Helping evaluate business goals, assessments, develop technical architectures, and support the design deployment
Contributing to the team responsible for designing and managing cloud-based systems for Interac
Acting as a technical interface for various projects and infrastructure initiatives
Providing additional ad-hoc support with:
Driving automation for cloud build
Delivering environments into and designing solutions on the public clouds
Preparing design documents for cloud deployment
Implementing best practices around security & platform tools
Writing IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and developing modules
Collaborating directly with Interac’s DevSecOps subject matter experts (SME)
You bring:
You are currently enrolled in a university or college program in a relevant discipline, like computer science or similar field
Familiarity with system architecture and automation
Familiarity with scripting languages and cloud-native technologies
Experience with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and continuous integration, delivery and deployment (CI/CD) tools
Experience with implementing security in public cloud environments
You are a proactive critical thinker, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
You’re comfortable troubleshooting and enjoy tackling challenging problems
Comfortable with learning and working effectively either independently or with groups
Confidence in your ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with:
Building out cloud solutions
Infrastructure automation
Ansible and/or Terraform
Workstyle: Hybrid
Term: January to April 2025
Working Days: Monday - Friday
