THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is looking for a friendly, motivated Liquor Store Clerk 2 to help deliver outstanding customer care in the fast-paced environment of our Fine Wine & Good Spirits store. Our mission is to responsibly sell wine and spirits as a retailer and wholesaler, regulate Pennsylvania's alcohol industry, promote alcohol education and social responsibility, and maximize financial returns for all Pennsylvanians. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Liquor Store Clerk 2, you will perform shift lead work in a PLCB liquor store. An employee in this job is responsible for leading a shift in a liquor store or overseeing the work of lower-level clerks focusing on one particular aspect of a shift, such as ringing sales or unloading a shipment. While work includes the oversight of other clerks where the performance of routine duties is required. Work includes overseeing and engaging in customer service, ringing sales on a cash register, unloading shipments, stocking shelves, building displays, and cleaning the store. Work also includes providing on-the-job training to lower-level store employees regarding store procedures and policies; assigning and reviewing the work of lower-level store clerks; completing accounting and inventory reports for the shift; overseeing cash management issues on the shift; and resolving customer service and product-related issues. Routine store duties are performed and directed independently, while guidance is sought from a manager or an assistant manager for new or unusual circumstances. Work is reviewed by a manager through conferences and reports for adherence to policy and procedures for the overall performance.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 75 hours bi-weekly.
- Work hours may vary from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, Sunday- Saturday.
- Salary: The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed above and is not negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (commonwealth titles); or
- Six months of retail sales work.

Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
