Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Inventory Control Coordinator to manage and coordinate all aspects of inventory operations at our facility. This role involves overseeing the receipt, tracking, and disposition of Government Furnished Material (GFM) and contractor-acquired property, ensuring that inventory processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with company policies and safety regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating material handling, managing inventory data, and working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve shortages and discrepancies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Oversee and coordinate the receipt of GFM and contractor-acquired materials, including the generation of receiving paperwork and necessary pick lists.
- Factory Order Management: Schedule, track, and close factory orders in alignment with production needs and inventory control processes.
- Inventory Tracking & Resolution: Track inventory shortages and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely replenishment.
- Material Handling: Safely unload trucks, deliver materials to the shop floor, and ensure inventory is stored properly.
- System Data Management: Initiate and be responsible for entering accurate inventory data into the company’s inventory control systems (e.g., Oracle ERP) and maintain up-to-date records of materials.
- Physical Inventory: Coordinate and conduct physical inventories, including periodic and special counts, and ensure that inventory records are accurate and reconciled.
- Specialized Inventory Coordination: Provide support for specialized inventory areas (e.g., CSIL) and ensure that all processes follow established guidelines.
- Disposition of Materials: Coordinate the disposition of discrepant or excess material, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.
- Auditing: Perform audits under the direction of senior inventory planners and managers to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory records.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes and workflows, initiating corrective actions as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED with 6+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, inventory management, or property control.
- Experience: Strong understanding of inventory functions, particularly related to contractor-acquired and government-furnished materials (GFM).
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise with Oracle ERP or other inventory management systems.
- Certifications: Forklift and Crane Certification
- Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to take corrective actions within inventory control systems.
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record in material handling, shipping, and receiving operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting and communication.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- Education: Relevant Associate’s degree or higher.
- Certifications: APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar certification.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience within the defense industry
- Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with specialized inventory areas (e.g., CSIL) and material management processes.
