Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sandblaster to join our team. The Sandblaster will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting by using specialized equipment to sandblast various materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in sandblasting techniques, a strong work ethic, and the ability to follow safety protocols to ensure a smooth and effective surface preparation process
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by operating sandblasting equipment to remove rust, paint, dirt, and other contaminants.
- Suit up in protective gear (including full-body suit, respirator, and goggles) to safely operate the sandblasting equipment.
- Choose and apply appropriate blasting medium (e.g., sand, glass beads, or other abrasives) based on surface type and job specifications.
- Ensure all surfaces are clean and properly prepped for painting or coating applications.
- Maintain and inspect sandblasting equipment for functionality and safety, making adjustments or repairs as needed.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to protect yourself and others in the workspace.
- Monitor progress to ensure all surfaces meet required quality standards.
- Assist with other surface preparation tasks as needed, including cleaning and masking areas not to be blasted.
- Work closely with the painting team to coordinate smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
Working hours: 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Skills:
- At least 1 year previous experience in sandblasting or powder coating
- Ability to wear and work in protective gear for extended periods.
- Knowledge of different abrasive media and how to use them effectively on various surfaces.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, bending, and lifting.
- Understanding of and commitment to following safety protocols.
- Basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
Education:
High School

1-4 years

Must be able to comfortably lift 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
Must be comfortable working in a noisy and dusty environment.
