Lead Packaging Technician- Wilmington, North Carolina DISHER is currently partnering with one of the largest functional beverage manufacturers in America, offering a diverse portfolio of organic, private label, functional beverages for top global retailers. They are currently searching for Packaging Technicians to add to their team in Wilmington, North Carolina. There is availability for first shift and second shift positions.

What you'll get to do: - Uphold a safe work environment by following safety policies, conducting inspections, and immediately reporting hazards or incidents.
- Focus on product quality by sampling, inspecting, and testing finished products and packaging, and working with Quality Control to resolve any issues.
- Maintain good documentation practices and ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure the packaging area is clean, organized, and sanitized regularly; operate cleaning and sanitizing equipment as needed.
- Lead and direct the team by ensuring adherence to GMPs, training new employees, and providing support or coaching as needed.
- Oversee daily operations, including machine setup, changeovers, breakdowns, and managing team tasks, breaks, and lunches.
- Monitor machine efficiency and perform daily calibration, maintenance, and inspection of equipment for sanitation and hazards.
- Report downtime and equipment issues to maintenance in a timely manner, ensuring corrective actions are taken as needed.
- Follow SQF policies, maintain awareness of food safety standards, and report any issues to the Quality Assurance Manager for corrective action.
- Participate in ongoing training for safety, operational procedures, skill development, and compliance.
What will make you successful: - Basic computer skills required
- 2 years experience in packaging filler role required
- 1 year experience in team lead or supervisory role preferred
- 1 year brewery/brite tank experience preferred
- Autonomous Maintenance experience a plus
- Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership skills
- Ability to problem solve and recognize opportunities for continuous improvement
- Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
- Heightened awareness of safety precautions and hazards for self and others
- Ability to positively work with a team to achieve production goals

The person in this role may have the opportunity to travel to our Asheville, NC area headquarters for paid onsite onboarding and learning (with company provided hotel, meal stipend, and mileage reimbursement)
- Extended shifts, overtime, and weekends may be needed based on business needs
- Flexibility in work hours is necessary to meet operational demands
- High school diploma or GED required
