Job Description

Amotec is currently supporting a search for a Production Manager . Located in east of St. Louis in Bond County, IL, our client is an industry-leading manufacturing company. As the Production Manager , you will oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations and facility management, ensuring excellence in product quality, cost efficiency, safety, and employee relations.


Production Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a high-performing manufacturing team to deliver exceptional customer service at optimal cost, while maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Manage employee development and training, plant scheduling, recruiting, terminations, customer communications, root cause analysis, financial tracking, safety protocols, supplier evaluations, and continuous process improvement.
  • Drive the Lean Manufacturing journey within the plant, focusing on daily incremental improvements, employee engagement, capacity enhancement, visual management, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Oversee inventory control of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods to ensure operational efficiency and minimal waste.
  • Coach and develop supervisors and team leaders to align their managerial skills with company objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments and levels of the organization to achieve facility and company-wide goals.
  • Maintain the physical plant and grounds to uphold good manufacturing practices and professional standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental permits related to the manufacturing process and facility operations.


Production Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field and proven track record of significant supervisory/management roles in manufacturing is required.
  • Proficient in Lean Manufacturing principles and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Previous experience managing teams of 75+ in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in selecting, coaching, and developing employees, conducting performance appraisals, and setting strategic goals.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems; SAP proficiency is a bonus.
