Job Description

Overview:

OSI Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. This is a remote position but requires you live in Northern California . The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processing, timekeeping, and HR-related tasks. This role requires a high level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for 250+ employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
  • Manage and collect employee timecards and review for accuracy.
  • Calculate and process overtime, commissions, and bonuses.
  • Enter new employee profiles, including rate, deductions, and contributions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Track PTO, sick leave, and other time-off accruals, adhering to state-specific regulations.
  • Assist with year-end reporting, including W-2s, 1099s, and Workers' Compensation audits.

HR Support:

  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Answer employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
  • Provide support for 401k and health benefits administration.
  • Track monthly credit card charges and receipts.

General:

  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online or Desktop to process payroll and manage employee information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Qualifications:

  • 2-8 years of experience in payroll processing and timekeeping.
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online or Desktop.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of overtime rules and regulations for various states.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
