Position Summary The Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing the receiving and storage of all bulk paper stock and materials within the plant. This role ensures that all incoming materials are properly inspected, documented, and stored in an organized manner. The Receiving Lead coordinates the receiving process, maintains accurate inventory records, and promotes a safe, efficient work environment. All duties must align with the company's Mission and Values and comply with established standards for both internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities Receiving & Documentation - Receive and inspect all incoming truckloads of bulk paper and materials.
- Prepare accurate receiving, transfer, and damage reports for all incoming goods.
- Record and file inserts, reports, and other related documentation.
- Match received goods to open purchase orders to verify proper reporting and accuracy.
Material Handling & Storage - Assist with unloading materials from delivery vehicles and ensure proper placement within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area at all times.
- Monitor and maintain storage areas, addressing any damaged paper, books, or inventory and ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
- Transfer received goods to the appropriate departments for further processing or storage.
Inventory Management - Maintain and organize paper inventory, ensuring it is readily accessible and accurately tracked.
- Perform regular inventory checks and ensure proper reporting to maintain accountability.
- Receive, count, and file reports on incoming inserts and cards as required.
Safety & Compliance - Ensure the safe operation of all equipment and the safe performance of duties.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Assist with preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
Additional Duties - Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- Be available for overtime work when necessary.
Qualifications Education & Experience - High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or a related field is preferred.
Skills & Abilities - Strong computer skills are required for updating schedules and maintaining spreadsheets.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write routine reports and effectively communicate with team members.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in various units of measurement.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adjust priorities as needed.
Work Environment - The work environment is typically noisy and fast-paced, requiring the ability to work efficiently and safely under these conditions.
Additional Information - Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour
