Shift: Will discuss at interview
RN Post Partum: - RN will perform assessments on new mothers to make sure they are healing and recovering properly after giving birth.
- Checking cesarean incisions or monitoring vital signs. You may also remove catheters, which may have been placed during a C-section, or change dressings.
- You may also give pain medication and antibiotics as needed.
- In addition to caring for the mother, you may also monitor babies to make sure they are healthy.
- Besides monitoring the recovery and health of mother and baby, you will provide education.
- Caring for a brand new infant can be a bit overwhelming, especially for new parents who do not have any experience with babies.
- You may instruct new parents on all aspects of taking care of their baby.
- You may teach new mothers how to breastfeed, burp or bathe their new baby.
Requirements: - BSN from an accredited nursing school
- Current RN licensure
- Current BLS
- At least 2+ years of current experience as a Postpartum RN
