Overview Essential Function We are looking for a Manager, Copy & Content to help lead and own the brand voice & tone across the Sally Beauty business in a wide range of print, digital, e-commerce, direct mail, in-store and social campaigns, ensuring consistency across all channels. The Manager, Copy & Content helps manage the creative marketing Copy Team to concept, strategize and develop fresh and exciting content under strategic marketing direction and helps lead the team in campaign kickoffs, content strategy brainstorming sessions and brand launches. In this role he/she also works with the Marketing, Merchandising and Digital teams to create compelling content that motivates and inspires our customers. ** Qualified candidates should include a relevant portfolio of work demonstrating proven success leading editorial content across print & digital platforms when applying! Join us.” Primary Duties Own strategy of copy & content for varied projects across wide range of initiatives & channels, identifying appropriate messaging across all channels for consistent, on-brand execution Partners with designers on all high-level projects, marrying art with copy Serves as a lead brand ambassador for the Copy Team, protecting and verifying the brand tone of voice in all channels Confidently presents ideas and campaign creative to groups of peers and leadership Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field with relevant portfolio of work demonstrating proven success writing into editorial storytelling content and call-to-action selling and educational copy. 4+ years of experience as either a copywriter or content/editorial writer. Fashion and beauty retail experience is preferred. Proven ability to adapt writing style when advertising to our varied customer targets. Must be a self-motivated go-getter with a keen eye for detail, ability to multi-task with accuracy and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Composure in a fast-paced and frequently-changing environment with the patience to maintain clear communication when requests change. Understand how to appeal to diverse cultural markets. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving, communications, and relationship building skills. Ensures all files related to assigned projects are in the proper place within the appropriate servers/systems for future access. A background in proofreading or copy editing Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Strong mastery of AP Style Strong project management and planning skills Proficiency in working in a MAC-based environment Competencies / Attributes Demonstrates the talent of persuasion, a vivid imagination and a fluency with language Must be a diplomatic leader and educator for the Copy Team and be able to provide thoughtful critiques Possess the proven ability to adapt style when advertising to our varied customer targets Exhibits flexibility to handle a high volume of projects that range from splashy headlines to call-to-action selling and educational copy Ensures that all files related to assigned projects are in the proper place within the appropriate servers/systems for future access. Working Conditions /Physical Requirements The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
