Licensed Practical Nurse -DDA050 - Mon 7AM - Fri 3PMnnJob DetailsnnJob LocationnnAnn Mittasch ICF - South Richmond Hill, NYnnEducation LevelnnHigh SchoolnnSalary Rangenn$32.96 - $32.96 HourlynnJob DescriptionnnEvaluate each resident’s need for nursing care on an ongoing basis and provide such care directly or through supervision.nnEssential Accountabilities:nnCoordinate medical pre-admission evaluations and screening of prospective clients.nnReview and update persons with disabilities pre-admission evaluation within thirty (30) days of placement.nnReview monthly the medication record of each resident for potential adverse reactions, allergies, interactions, contraindications, rationality and laboratory test modifications; advises the physician of any medication errors and indicated changes.nnParticipate in interdisciplinary team conferences.nnParticipate in the control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and implementation of appropriate protective and preventive measures.nnAny additional duties as assigned by supervisor in accordance with Federal and New York State regulations and guidelines.nnTranscribe medication orders and coordinate communication with others.nnDevelop appropriate professional liaison with physician dieticians, hospitals, and pharmacies.nnComply with State and Federal regulations regarding medical services provided.nn12 Ensure correction of deficiencies in the nursing area cited during inspections.nnEnsure all work is reviewed and cosigned by an agency Registered Nurse (to be scheduled by clinical supervisor)nnAdminister TB tests.nnOther ResponsibilitiesnnTrain staff in all areas relating to the medical and physical health of individuals residing in WellLife programs.nnProvide health and hygiene education to residents on a regularly scheduled basis. Involvement in scheduling and transporting clients to medical appointments along with Client Coordinator.nnAct as a medical resource person for Residence Manager and staff to ensure proper medical care and follownnthrough on medical issues.nnWork location and schedules are subject to change.nnAttend certification inspections, utilization review and independent professional reviews as needed.nnAttend nurses meetings when requested by supervisor.nnThis does not limit the assignment of duties or exclude the performance of other duties, not mentioned, as assigned by supervisor.nnJob QualificationsnnCurrent NYS license and currently registered by NYS Department of Education and specialized training or one year of experience in treating and developmentally disabled.
