JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of two production facilities that utilize both extrusion and injection molding equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal functionality, safety, and cleanliness of all equipment and structures. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent organizational skills.
Will need to manage projects/tasks involving extrusion, molding and automation machines. Must be comfortable troubleshooting, be mechanically inclined and have knowledge of industrial electricity, pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, and automation. Knowledge of PLC's, CMMS software and experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Maintenance Oversight: Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for both facilities, ensuring timely inspections and repairs utilizing CMMS software.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Project Management: Coordinate and prioritize maintenance projects, including routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and renovations, while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment with the use of CMMS software, ordering materials as necessary and managing vendor relationships.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for staff.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize maintenance management software to track work orders, analyze performance metrics, and generate reports for upper management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and teams to address facility-related issues and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES
  • Work Order Completion Rate: Track the percentage of work orders completed on time versus those that are overdue. Aim for a high completion rate to ensure timely maintenance.
  • Response Time to Maintenance Requests: Measure the average time taken to respond to maintenance requests from staff or departments. Shorter response times indicate effective management.
  • Budget Adherence: Monitor expenditures against the maintenance budget. Successful management will show minimal variance from the budget and highlight cost-saving initiatives.
  • SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) Compliance: Evaluate adherence to SHE regulations ISO 14001 and 450001 and the number of safety incidents or violations reported. A decrease in incidents reflects effective safety management.
  • Equipment Downtime: Measure the amount of downtime for critical equipment. Reduced downtime indicates effective preventive maintenance practices.
  • Employee Turnover Rate: Assess turnover within the maintenance team. Low turnover can indicate strong leadership and job satisfaction.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Gather feedback from facility users regarding maintenance responsiveness and effectiveness. High satisfaction scores reflect successful maintenance operations.
  • Preventive Maintenance Compliance: Track the percentage of preventive maintenance tasks completed on schedule through CMMS. High compliance rates suggest proactive management.
  • Training and Development: Evaluate the number of training sessions conducted and the percentage of staff participating. This reflects investment in team development and safety awareness.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises Maintenance Technicians
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Regular attendance is expected and required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Trade certification preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and structural maintenance.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Background in lean manufacturing or other continuous improvement methods or programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as an advocate for safety, health and environmental issues.
  • Demonstrated history of leadership, change management, process improvement, analyzing information, strategic planning, verbal and written communication, attention to detail, dealing with complexity.
  • Knowledge of Electronics Troubleshooting, Technical Leadership, Technical Understanding, and Equipment Maintenance.
  • Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other)
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend work orders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well with others or in an individual capacity.
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic blueprints.
  • Ability to work different shifts depending on what is required is preferred.
  • PLC and CNC experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS
  • Valid Driver's License
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Be able to work in a production environment that is moderately noisy always requiring the use of hearing protection, eye protection and safety shoes.
