This role involves defining technical requirements, sourcing and qualifying suppliers, creating and managing Requests for Proposals (RFP) or Requests for Quotations (RFQ), negotiating terms and agreements, monitoring supplier performance, closing purchases, and evaluating supplier performance.nnKey Responsibilities:nnDefining Requirements:nnCollaborate with technical teams to understand and document the technical specifications and requirements for equipment, materials, and services.nnEnsure all requirements are clearly defined, accurate, and comprehensive.nnSourcing Suppliers:nnIdentify and evaluate potential suppliers based on technical capability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.nnMaintain a database of qualified suppliers and keep it up-to-date with relevant information.nnQualifying Suppliers:nnConduct thorough assessments of potential suppliers, including capability, quality control, and compliance with industry standards.nnPerform site visits and audits as necessary.nnCreating RFPs/RFQs:nnDevelop and issue detailed RFPs or RFQs to qualified suppliers.nnEnsure that all RFPs/RFQs include clear specifications, deadlines, and evaluation criteria.nnNegotiating:nnEngage in negotiations with suppliers to secure the best possible terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.nnWork to establish long-term relationships and strategic partnerships with key suppliers.nnAgreement Management:nnDraft, review, and manage contracts and agreements with suppliers.nnEnsure that all agreements comply with company policies and legal requirements.nnMonitoring:nnTrack the progress of orders and deliveries to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.nnAddress and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the procurement process.nnClosing:nnVerify that all purchased goods and services meet specified requirements before final acceptance.nnEnsure that all necessary documentation is completed and filed appropriately.nnRating and Evaluation:nnConduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers based on criteria such as quality, delivery, and cost.nnMaintain records of supplier performance and provide feedback to suppliers to encourage continuous improvement.nnQualifications:nnBachelor’s degree or higher in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or similar disciplinennStrong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.nnExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.nnAbility to understand and interpret technical specifications and requirements.nnProficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.nnStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.nnAttention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.nnCompetencies:nnTechnical Acumen: Understanding of the technical aspects of the products and services being procured.nnNegotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.nnAttention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all procurement activities.nnCommunication: Effective verbal and written communication skills.nnProblem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve issues promptly and effectively.nnTime Management: Efficiently managing time to handle multiple priorities.nnAbilities:nnExposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.nnSitting for extended periods of time.nnReach by extending hands or arms in any direction.nnHave finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.nnListen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.nnCommunicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.nnRead and understand information and ideas presented in writing.nnApply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.nnIdentify and understand the speech of another person.nnApplicants for this position may be required to obtain or provide proof of flu shots or of other vaccinations depending on customer requirements and nature of the position or demonstrate a valid basis for exception.nnEOE Minorities/Females/Protected Veterans/DisablednnVEVRAA Contractor
