Our client, Architect Therapeutics , was recently founded to explore completely new, highly coveted chemical space for addressing challenging molecular targets (expand the “druggable universe”) using a combination of leading-edge C-H activation technologies (from Prof. Jin-Quan Yu laboratory) and activity-based-protein-profiling (from Prof. Ben Cravatt laboratory).
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced biologist with a chemical biology background to join our fast-paced, collaborative, drug discovery team. Top candidates will have experience in assay development and familiarity with mass spectrometry-based screening techniques. The candidate will conceive, design, and execute in vitro studies under the guidance of our proteomics group to support hit validation against targets of interest and interrogate mechanism of action. The successful candidate will work seamlessly with the entire Architect team and be open to embracing new responsibilities as needed to support the development of new therapeutics. This is a full time, lab-based, onsite position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the discovery and characterization of novel small molecules for autoimmune and cancer treatments in a collaborative and dynamic research environment
- Develop and run robust medium to high-throughput cell-based and mass spectrometry-based assays to help drive lead identification, optimization, and characterization of small molecules
- Routine preparation of samples for quantitative, mass-spectrometry based proteomics studies
- Support to conduct mechanistic studies to understand functional relevance for various chemical series identified in screening campaigns
- Independently perform data QC and analysis
- Maintain electronic notebook entries and routine data reporting
- Present findings in various internal group and project team meetings
Qualifications and Experience:
- BS or MS with previous lab experience, experience in industry is a plus
- Be highly motivated, productive, and goal-driven with proven hands-on lab experience and an open attitude to learn and master new techniques
- Familiarity with mass spectrometry-based techniques and/or large-scale data analysis is highly desirable
- Technical proficiency with SDS-PAGE, western blotting, molecular cloning techniques for mammalian expression systems, and other relevant wet lab techniques required
- Be skilled in reading scientific literature and able to apply to experimental design
- Have high attention to detail to ensure reliable and reproducible data generation, strong recordkeeping skills, and can effectively communicate within a laboratory environment
- Strong experience with basic Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and GraphPad Prism. Experience in Dotmatics is a bonus!
