Job Title: Methods Agent - Aerospace
Location: Calgary, AB (Full-time, Onsite)
Position Summary:
The Methods Agent is a vital role focused on creating and improving manufacturing documentation to support efficient, high-quality aircraft production. You’ll work hands-on in a dynamic aerospace environment, streamlining processes and driving engineering changes to maintain quality, compliance, and productivity. This role involves collaboration across Production, Quality, and Procurement teams to resolve technical challenges, implement improvements, and support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation & Standards:
- Develop and update Engineering Masters (EM) and Work Instructions (WI) to define manufacturing processes, part specifications, and sequences. Create Assembly Manuals for structural and electrical installations and optimize tools/equipment for production.
- Engineering Changes:
- Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Notices (ECNs) to improve quality and efficiency, collaborating with stakeholders to assess impacts and costs.
- Process Improvement:
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) to streamline workflows, improve process efficiency, and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) compliance.
- Root Cause Analysis:
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement data-driven solutions using statistical tools like Minitab.
- Project Coordination:
- Oversee multiple projects, collaborating across departments to ensure timely completion and alignment with production goals.
- Training & Support:
- Develop training materials and conduct technical training for production, quality, and engineering personnel to align with QMS and operational standards.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years in aerospace or large-component manufacturing, with hands-on methods engineering and process planning experience.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced skills in CATIA, AutoCAD, MS Office, and ERP systems like SAP, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Process Improvement & Quality Systems:
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality management, with experience in continuous improvement and QMS standards.
- Analytical & Communication Skills:
- Skilled in data analysis and problem-solving with strong communication and project management abilities for cross-functional teamwork.
