About the Role:


Our client is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the operations of a busy and dynamic facility located in Abbotsford, B.C. This position offers the opportunity to oversee all aspects of business operations while driving customer relationships and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a seasoned people leader with a strong background in operations and a proven ability to develop and expand business opportunities.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective workflows.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, cost management, and profitability.
  • Drive business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, fostering a safe workplace for employees, customers, and visitors.
  • Develop and implement operational standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage team performance through training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with corporate teams and other leaders to expand customer reach and service offerings.


Qualifications:


  • At least 5 years of experience managing operations and leading a team in a satellite business or profit-center environment.
  • Demonstrated success in sales and business development, with a track record of driving growth.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets and operational costs effectively.
  • Hands-on experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient in MS Office and adaptable to using various software tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Degree or diploma in a relevant field is an asset but not required.
  • Knowledge of the recycling or related industries is a plus but not mandatory.
