Job Title: Commercial Plumbing Estimator

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Commercial Plumbing Estimator for a full-time, in-house position in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will have a proven local and stable work history with over 5 years of experience in commercial plumbing estimating. Familiarity with Trimble Autobid or similar on-screen takeoff (OST) software is mandatory. We prefer applicants who have experience with labs, high-tech facilities, hospitals, and pharmaceutical projects.
Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial plumbing projects based on construction drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
• Use Trimble Autobid or similar OST software to generate accurate and competitive estimates.
• Evaluate and analyze plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bid estimates for projects.
• Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Maintain relationships with key vendors; ensure that we are receiving the best price and service for each project.
• Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.) as required.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project meetings as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of commercial plumbing estimating experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Trimble Autobid or similar OST software.
• Prior experience in labs, high-tech facilities, hospitals, and pharmaceutical projects is highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and attention to detail.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Local applicants with a stable work history are preferred.
