About the role:
As the Sourcing Specialist, you'll support the ongoing transformation of procurement in North America, by defining and executing strategic sourcing projects which add measurable value to the business.
Within the role, you'll develop and implement commercial sourcing strategies to maximize value while ensuring the right level of governance and risk management for own areas of responsibility.
Working collaboratively with internal colleagues including the global procurement team, to ensure procure to pay processes and policies are operating effectively whilst managing supplier relationships to drive overall best value for Drax. You will ensure early procurement engagement with the businesses, through the Source to Contract process (from need identification through contract implementation) Achieving cost savings and additional business benefits to support Procurements important role in value delivery.
Who we're looking for
You'll have strong technical procurement skills linked with an ability to drive best practice, alongside excellent negotiation skills and the ability to consider opportunities for innovation. You will be comfortable in proactively challenging stakeholders and demand, while providing a prompt, efficient and personalized service to internal customers at all levels. This is imperative, to ensure that customer needs are met, and productive relationships are built and maintained. You should also be effective in ensuring departmental policies and processes are communicated and followed.
It is key that you are a self-starter with a 'can do/will do' attitude who has the energy, drive and commitment to make things happen and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies to form alignment. The ability to identify key opportunities for Procurement support and prioritise workload effectively is essential.
Procurement or Project Management qualification preferred, and a post graduate qualification preferred but not essential.
