At MLT, we create solutions by empowering our people to fulfill their passion for service. In support of the Joint Program Manager, CBRN Protection, we are seeking a Systems Engineer III for a hybrid position (1-2 days per week in office).
The specific requirements and tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:- Provide systems engineering analysis and technical expertise to the Product Manager for the Product Lead for Hazard Mitigation programs, the functional support staff, and integrated product teams (IPTs) to accomplish product goals
- Conduct systems engineering process analysis and provide input to the Product Managers for the Tactical Contamination Mitigation System, Autonomous Equipment Decontamination and JPM CBRN P leadership by identifying and defining required tests; monitoring test coverage; evaluating overall quality experienced; specifying required test data; evaluating the outcome of testing conducted in each test cycle; and providing feedback and input to functional IPTs, Interim Progress Reviews (IPRs), milestone decisions, and required program updates.
- Participate in Configuration Control Boards
- Input and review Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) for items in sustainment
- Provide guidance and expertise regarding use of various forms of technical data, including but not limited to Purchase Descriptions, Commercial Item Descriptions, Performance Specifications, Detail Specifications, and drawing packages.
- Provide input and impacts to procurement strategies and follow-on procurements in sustainment.
- Provide technical assessments of engineering data related to shelf life.
- Assist the lead engineer or product support manager in executing program-level IPTs for systems engineering, risk management, and configuration management.
- Participate and provide input to program functional Integrated Product Teams, In-Process Reviews (IPRs), milestone decisions, and required program updates.
- Develop, author, and/or provide comments on high-level documents (e.g., requirements documents, Test and Evaluation Master Plans [TEMP], Systems Engineering Plans [SEP], Concepts of Operation [CONOP], Standard Operating Procedures [SOP], test plans, Memorandums of Agreement/Understanding [MOA/MOU], Engineering Change Proposals [ECP], Configuration Management Plans [CMP], etc).
- Provide systems engineering input into program documentation (e.g., Life Cycle Cost Estimate [LCCE], Life Cycle Management Plan [LCMP], and Test and Evaluation Strategy (TES), etc).
- Identify, assess, and develop plans to mitigate program risks and system safety risks.
- Translate program requirements into language for a Performance Specification (PSpec), Statement of Work (SOW), and associated Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items for material solution solicitation and update them as necessary.
Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Engineering Management, or a related discipline, as well as eight (8) years of general work history, (3) of which are position-relevant (engineering/acquisitions)
Educational Tradeoff: Associate's degree or professional certificate in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Engineering Management, or a related discipline, as well as ten (10) years of general work history, (5) of which are position- relevant (engineering/acquisitions)
Specific/Preferred Requirements:- Experience in chemical, biological radiological, and nuclear defense (CBRND) preferred
- Experience in the defense acquisition process for a program office preferred
- DoDD 5000.01, DoDI 5000.02 and/or JCIDS experience preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
