Be a leader in WPP's financial transformation! We're looking for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to manage daily GL processing for our non-media business units and mentor a team of staff accountants. You'll oversee critical areas like fixed assets, intercompany transactions, tax, and treasury, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. What you'll be doing:
  • Develop your accounting expertise in a dynamic environment: This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to WPP's financial transformation. As a General Ledger Accountant, you'll collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Your key responsibilities will include:
    • Managing GL transactions for assigned business units within SAP.
    • Processing and reviewing journal entries, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
    • Overseeing fixed asset accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
    • Ensuring accurate intercompany reporting and reconciliations.
    • Handling tax and treasury transactions and bank reconciliations.
    • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Supporting internal and external audits.
    • Mentoring junior team members and fostering a collaborative environment.

    • Proven experience in General Ledger Accounting: Experience in a large or international organization is a plus, but not required. We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds and transferable skills.
    • Educational background in accounting or a related field: A degree is preferred, but we also value equivalent practical experience and professional certifications. A CPA license is a plus.
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills: The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels is essential.
    • Self-motivated and detail-oriented: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong work ethic. We value individuals who take initiative and are committed to producing high-quality work.
    • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills: You can effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate completion of responsibilities.
    • Clear and effective communication skills: You can convey complex information in a concise and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.
    • A collaborative and supportive approach: You enjoy working as part of a team and are willing to share your knowledge and expertise with others. Experience mentoring or training junior staff is a plus.
    • Customer-focused mindset: You are committed to providing excellent service and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Technical proficiency: Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is an asset, but not required. We provide training and support to help you develop your technical skills.
