Argenta is currently looking to fill the role of SHW - Senior Scientist in the Argenta, Shawnee - location

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Scientist to join the team in Shawnee, Kansas. The Senior Scientist is responsible for performing analytical testing of finished dosage pharmaceutical products and/or raw materials utilizing experience and education laboratory knowledge and equipment. The ideal candidate has proven experience analyzing in process, raw material and finished product of pharmaceuticals following GLP and cGMP guidelines.

About the role
  • Design and execute the method transfer protocol, method validations and assist in writing method transfer / validation reports.
  • Design and execute the cleaning validation protocols and assist in writing reports.
  • Support the activities to develop analytical methods to assess the purity, potency and stability of drug substances and finished products.
  • Operation of laboratory analytical instrumentation and be able to assist in the troubleshooting and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Read and interpret USP, EP, JP compendial monographs, and analytical methodology.
  • Utilize root cause analysis tools and technical writing to complete laboratory investigations.
  • Serves as a mentor to Chemist I, II, and III positions in such areas as equipment utilization, SOP understanding and application, and good lab documentation and lab practices.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in a scientific role in a GMP regulated facility or GCP regulated laboratory
  • Ability to train and provide guidance to other personnel and become a subject matter expert in general and advanced laboratory practices.
  • Excellent written, communication, and organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work with internal and external customers
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Flexibility and ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Seeks to understand issues, trends, and opportunities within Argenta and the industry and incorporates this knowledge into daily work
  • Commitment to continuous improvement


This position is subject to a DEA background check post offer and at regular intervals. This position is also required to complete a post offer drug test. Both the background and drug test must comply with company standards or offers of employment will be rescinded.
