Job Description
This position has responsibility for driving business improvements using the Six Sigma methodology including DMAIC, LEAN, Change Acceleration Process across all product lines producing lasting change and quantitative business results. This position will assume a lead role, providing Six Sigma education and spreading the knowledge and use of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to the health system.
  • Conduct projects using Lean and Six Sigma methods including: leading change, defining problem statements and project plans, engaging multiple stakeholders to gain support, structuring analysis, identifying and gathering data, generating and implementing data driven recommendations. Facilitate translation of Six Sigma results to other applicable areas. Provide direction to and mentor green belts serving on projects.
  • Develop training materials for Green Belt, Yellow Belt and White Belt, based on Lean, A3 problem solving, Toyota Kata, and DMAIC. The employee will also mentor projects associated with these skills.
  • Provides internal consulting of departmental processes providing recommendations as requested.
  • Assist Department leadership in developing Improvement plans, QAPI plans, and other organizational leader's requests

The Black Belt II must have a minimum of 4 years' experience in process improvement and must achieve one of the following: Educational requirement (Master's Degree or Engineering Degree) or Certification requirement (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from a recognized program)
  • Patient Experience initiatives
  • Strategy Development, Action Steps, and Monitoring/Coaching
  • Assist as TEAMSTEPPS teacher, serving as trainer and willing to train instructors
  • Internal White Belt and Yellow Belt training, and supportive with external Green Belt training (university medical student collaborative)
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Transition support with new vendor Health Catalyst
  • Operational Improvements to enhance HCAHPs by reducing readmissions, mortalities, and other initiatives
  • Data analysis and support for clinics, hospitals, leaders, and providers across tri-state System
  • Initiate and support KATA and other programs at unit levels
