POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Specialist (or potentially Manager , depending on experience) is responsible for managing and analyzing financial tasks, including overseeing the monthly closing of the general ledger for sales, cost of sales, related expenses, and profit. This role will also assist in preparing and analyzing cost standards, financial statements, investment analysis, and related balance sheet accounts, with a focus on driving business insights and strategic decision-making.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Analyze, summarize, and report on financial performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and trends for operating companies and corporate shared services.
- Leverage a deep understanding of business processes, people, and relevant technology to identify, configure, and communicate actionable information.
- Provide practical business counsel to support accounting, finance, business units, shared services, and cross-functional teams throughout the organization.
- Conduct financial analysis and decision support to enable management to evaluate alternatives, make informed decisions, and assess the impact of those decisions.
- Assist in month-end financial close activities, including preparing and/or reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, analyses, and reporting.
- Lead and execute special projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the accounting/finance field, with a focus on financial planning and analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
