WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
Responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll and managing HR compliance activities.
Accurately process bi-weekly payroll, including calculating overtime, deductions, and bonuses using payroll systems.
Handle multi-state payroll processing, including specific requirements for California.
Manage tax processing, benefit payments, PTO accrual, and 401(k) contributions.
Track and maintain hourly rates, wages, benefit rates, and new hire information.
Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and management and troubleshoot as necessary.
Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, such as safety and anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Support the review of policies and practices to align with regulatory changes and industry best practices.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
Bachelor`s degree
1-2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist with a solid understanding of payroll processing and compliance.
Familiarity with federal, state, and local legislation governing payroll and employment.
Proficiency in MS Office and experience with relevant payroll software and databases.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
High level of confidentiality and integrity.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
