  • Conduct detailed inspections of aerospace parts and assemblies using a variety of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, coordinate measuring machines, etc.).
  • Perform visual inspections to detect defects, damages, or deviations from specified tolerances and blueprints.
  • Carry out functional tests to verify that parts operate correctly and meet design specifications.
  • Review technical drawings, blueprints, and product specifications to determine quality standards.
  • Perform dimensional, mechanical, and visual inspections to ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including measurement reports, non-conformance reports, and inspection certificates.
  • Document any non-conformances or deviations from quality standards and work with the production team to initiate corrective actions.
  • Generate inspection reports, track quality trends, and communicate findings to management.
  • Participate in audits and assist in the preparation of documentation for customer audits, regulatory inspections, or third-party certifications (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
  • Work closely with the production team, engineering, and management to ensure product quality at all stages of the manufacturing process.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensure all inspection activities comply with industry regulations, including FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency), and AS9100 quality standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection within aerospace, automotive, or a similar precision manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS), such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
  • Proficient in the use of inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs, gauges, optical comparators).
  • Knowledge of inspection techniques including visual, dimensional, and functional testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software, such as CAD or ERP systems, is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify small discrepancies in complex systems.
  • Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) from the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
  • AS9100 Auditor certification or similar.
  • FAA certifications (if applicable).
