CT Technologists are a vital part of the team ensuring the safety of patients and providing computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levels.nnThe ideal caregiver is someone who:nnHas experience as a CT Technologist.nnHolds or is currently working on obtaining CT registration with AART.nnDemonstrates a strong work ethic.nnThrives in a team environment.nnThis is an excellent opportunity for someone to discover Cleveland Clinic and gain hands-on experience as a CT Technologist. When you join Cleveland Clinic, you'll be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare.nnResponsibilities:nnChecks and prepares patients prior to CT study.nnAcquires patients chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.nnVerifies the patient's demographic data is correct in all applicable systems.nnAssures patient's safety and comfort during procedures.nnEducates patient regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.nnPerforms Daily QA.nnAssists with scheduling of patients as needed.nnPrepares and administers contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.nnPerforms VNA punctures as necessary and maintains competencies.nnMaintains all aspects of the CT area including the technical and clerical components to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.nnKeeps the area in a state of inspection readiness and compliance (i.e. JCAHO, ODH, etc.)nnAcquires, archives, transmits, and prints images via PACS.nnTransmits images and appropriate paperwork after hours.nnProcesses billing via RIS.nnObserves potential equipment dysfunctions and reports problems to appropriate individuals.nnMaintains available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.nnProvides coverage as needed and is available to cover shifts as needed.nnMay be assigned to a primary site, but is required to cover other modalities, sites and/or locations as needed.nnInstructs and mentors new hires and Radiology students.nnContinually strives to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation programs.nnOther duties as assigned.nnEducation:nnGraduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.nnCertifications:nnMust be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), in good standing.nnCertification in Computed Tomography (CT) required within one year of hire: R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT).nnCurrent state licensure required prior to employment.nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certification required.nnComplexity of Work:nnAbility to communicate well with Radiologists and Physicians to coordinate proper imaging of patients.nnStrong communication skills are essential to provide excellent care to patients and families.nnAbility to work well with minimal or no direct supervision.nnKnowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes.nnWork Experience:nnMinimum one year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist preferred.nnPhysical Requirements:nnRequires standing and walking for extended periods of time.nnMust be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.nnPersonal Protective Equipment:nnFollows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.nnSalaries (which may be) shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
