You will build a career that you are proud of, at a company you can believe in.nnThe Product Assurance Engineer supports the efforts of the Product Assurance team specific to Product Quality and Compliance, with the goal to ensure the products we sell comply with all market and legal requirements, are safe, meet or exceed industry standards and specifications, and are sourced from vendors that comply with our overall requirements. Will also apply quality tools and techniques for preventing and investigating product quality issues and facilitate improvements to our products and processes.nnThis role will have a focus on Industrial products.nnLocation:nnThis role is approved to be fully remote and can be based in the United States.nnResponsibilities:nnGeneral:nnWork with other engineers and analysts on a cohesive team to accomplish goals and proactively drive product quality and compliance from the inception stage.nnManage larger projects within Product Assurance which require cross functional coordination within Ferguson groups, as well as outside the organization.nnOffer outstanding customer service to internal and external customers with product assurance related issues. Develop benchmarks, reporting, and analysis for specific product categories.nnProduct Quality:nnEnsure processes such as vendor onboarding (Stage Gate) are followed at the product / sourcing inception stage so that product quality and compliance targets are met.nnMonitor, document, and report product quality issues and draft product advisories and recalls.nnProvide technical support to downstream customers by coordinating product inspections or product testing to support root cause analysis.nnParticipate in or lead vendor quality audits as needed and support inspections.nnWork with vendors to implement corrective actions and develop product improvements.nnReview nonconformance data and make data-driven decisions for the best resolutions.nnProduct Compliance:nnLead the Our Brand certification program for specific categories, ensuring products are properly tested, labeled, and marked as required and are safe for consumer and contractor use in the market.nnWork with third party certification and testing agencies to make sure specific Own Brand products are properly certified. Examples: UL, ETL, FM, CSA, ASME, NEC, ASTM, ANSI, MSS, NFPA, NSF, etc.nnResearch industry compliance regulations and policies at federal and state level.nnCreate and/or revise compliance policies and related documentation, including standard operating procedures, spec sheets, product certification databases, etc.nnCommunicate compliance policies and guidelines to category management, legal and designated departments.nnQualifications:nnBachelor's degree is required with preference in an engineering field. Demonstrated quality assurance or compliance experience will be considered.nn3-5 years experience in product quality and compliance.nnASQ Certification(s) is a plus: CQE, CQA, CQPA, or CMQ/OEnnExperience with quality tools, such as six sigma, lean manufacturing, FMEA, and root cause analysis (8D, 5Why, etc.)nnKnowledge of industry compliance requirements including ASME, ASTM, ANSI, MSS, NSF, NFPA, CSA, ETL, NEC, DOE, CEC, Energy Star, UL approvals, etc.nnKnowledge of Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) rules, regulations, and processes regarding recalls.nnExperience in Pipe, Valves and Fittings (PVF) ideal.nnAbility to analyze complex issues and produce working solutions.nnStrong process orientation.nnAbility to prioritize, multitask and manage deadlines.nnAbility to handle stress and work well in a fast-paced environment.nnAbility to work well independently and as a team.nnExcellent communication skills (oral, written and telephone skills).nnStrong computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint).nnEffective listening and interpersonal skills.nnPoise and maturity to interact with management, vendors, and customers.nnInteract if needed with regulatory and certification agencies.nnSupport and enforce corporate policies and initiatives.nnAt Ferguson, we care for each other.
