Summary
As a Purchasing Manager, you will lead a purchasing team to ensure timely, quality, cost-effective procurement. You’ll ensure performance and results within the team, develop efficient workflows, and lead through influence. You will develop commodity strategies aligned with company goals & deliver on structural improvement objectives.
Responsibilities
- Managing the performance of the purchasing team, providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
- Developing and implementing efficient workflows and purchasing strategies to optimize purchasing processes, quality and reduce costs
- Maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and managing performance expectations while ensuring timely delivery and quality.
- Managing vendor relationships to ensure quality and reliability of goods and services.
- Developing and implementing cost-saving and structural improvement initiatives
- Support ERP implementation for Celera Motion and Novanta
Requirements:
- Demonstrate extensive expertise in purchasing or procurement, while showcasing a track record of successful outcomes
- Be able to lead a team effectively and provide coaching, guidance and support to team members
- Have excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, purchasing software, Oracle or other ERP systems
- Have excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Ability to set and manage goals, allocate resources, and make high quality, timely decisions.
Travel Requirements
- May require up to 10% travel time
