DescriptionnnThe Senior Interior Designer / Space planner will develop designs, specifications, and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work of government, military, and commercial aviation facilities. This position serves in a leadership role and drives interior design programming, design, and furniture strategies. The Interior Designer / Space Planner works directly with the client, manages and mentors junior staff, and assists with integrating interior design concepts with architectural and engineering systems.nnLead designer for interior design of government, military, and commercial aviation projects.nnLead a team of junior interior design staff in the development and execution of projects.nnWork within a project team of architects and engineers, meeting with clients to assess needs and develop space programs for projects.nnAssist with the marketing efforts in pursuing architectural / interior design work.nnOther duties as assigned.nnQualificationsnnBachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related degree from an accredited program.nnMinimum 8 years of related interior design, interior architecture experiencennExcellent written & verbal communication skills.nnDemonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and construction document productionnnDemonstrated knowledge of Interior Design specifications, calculations, industry standards as well as visual, written and oral skillsnnA National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.nnStrong programming, design, space planning, construction documentation and leadership skills.nnStrong analytical & problem-solving skills.nnCurrent understanding and application of commercial furniture systems.nnExperience in Revit required.nnExperience in 3-D visualization software such as Enscape and/or Lumin is preferred.nnExperience with government and military design standards is preferred.nnThis job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until fillednnEEO/Minorities/Females/Disabled/VeteransnnJob ArchitecturennPrimary Location US-VA-NorfolknnOther Locations US-VA-Roanoke, US-VA-ArlingtonnnSchedule: Full-timennTravel: Yes, 15 % of the TimennReq ID: 241675nnJob Hire Type Experienced #LI-JJ #A&F
