PreConstruction Manager on one of the largest Data Center projects in the United States for one of the biggest GC's in the Country.


Location: On-site, Phoenix Arizona

Working Arrangement:

  • Full-time, on-site 5 days a week (relocation costs covered).
  • No hybrid or traveling arrangements available.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead and manage preconstruction for one of the largest data center projects in the United States. This role is with one of the top General Contractors in the country, known for their strong ESOP program, exceptional career growth opportunities, and robust reputation in delivering high-quality, large-scale projects.


As Preconstruction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the success of this project, leveraging your expertise to ensure accurate planning, cost management, and collaboration during the preconstruction phase.


Key Responsibilities

Preconstruction Leadership:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of preconstruction services, including cost estimation, scheduling, and value engineering.
  • Collaborate closely with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to align project objectives and deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive preconstruction plans, identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies.

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and other key project components.
  • Ensure estimates align with project budgets and contribute to overall financial feasibility.
  • Perform cost comparison analyses, identify savings opportunities, and provide recommendations to the project team.

Project Coordination and Communication:

  • Serve as the key liaison between internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders during the preconstruction phase.
  • Communicate project requirements, timelines, and expectations effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Monitor the transition from preconstruction to construction, ensuring alignment of goals and deliverables.

Technical Expertise:

  • Leverage your knowledge of MEP systems (mechanical and plumbing, electrical not required) to inform preconstruction planning.


Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 6-8+ years of experience in preconstruction and estimating for large-scale projects.
  • Project Scale: Proven experience with data center or commercial projects valued at $75M+.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in mechanical, plumbing, or a combination of MEP disciplines (electrical knowledge is a plus but not required).
  • Skills: Proficiency in preconstruction software and tools, excellent communication, and team collaboration skills.
