Overview:

We're searching for a technician who has experience working with and ideally testing relays on medium to high voltage projects.

This is a full time opportunity to be part of a supportive team who promote from within, who have a company made training program to get your NETA certifications asap and who have a stable and extensive pipeline of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Relay Testing: Perform routine and special testing of protective relays and associated equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with industry standards.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with relay systems, including malfunctioning devices and communication failures.
• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and calibration of relay testing equipment and tools.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of testing results, maintenance activities, and equipment conditions. Prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory compliance.
• Installation Support: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new relay systems and upgrades in substations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, operations staff, and other technicians to ensure effective and safe relay operations.
• Training: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians and staff on relay testing procedures and safety protocols.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety within the team.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in relay testing and maintenance in a substation or power systems environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in using relay test equipment and software; strong understanding of electrical principles, relay logic, and power systems.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and document findings.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform tasks that may require climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
