The Role:
We are seeking a Corporate Project Engineer to lead capital projects across multiple facilities , including Bay Point, CA, Vancouver, WA, and Denver, CO. This role emphasizes project scope development, execution, and potential identification of improvement opportunities. The position involves travel (50%-75%) and is a 1-year contract with options for extension .
Key Responsibilities:
- Capital Project Execution (80%) : Manage projects ranging from $250K to $2M, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Capital Planning (10%) : Develop budgets, schedules, and scopes for upcoming projects.
- Technical Support (10%) : Provide engineering studies, cost estimates, and technical assistance for turnarounds, reliability, and production improvement projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and engineering services to ensure project success.
- Implement and uphold Responsible Care and ISO 14001 safety and environmental standards.
Requirements:
- Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering preferred; technical degrees with 8-10 years of relevant experience also considered.
- Experience :
- 5-8 years of engineering experience in manufacturing plants.
- 3-5 years supporting operations, engineering, or maintenance.
- Capital project management experience in the chemical or refining industries.
- Technical Skills :
- Proficiency with drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Expertise in piping systems, pumps, material handling, and equipment design/installation.
- Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, ASTM, ANSI standards, and California-specific regulatory requirements.
- Physical Demands :
- Capable of working in confined spaces, elevated areas, adverse weather, and noisy or dusty environments.
