Colourific Custom Coaters is the leading powder paint coater in Canada for aluminum and steel products.


Our powder coatings processes and applications comply to the American Aluminum Manufactures Association (AAMA) stringent specifications. Combined with superior quality assurance systems, just-in-time delivery, clients are provided with outstanding quality, and industry-leading customer service.


We coat products for the architectural/building, household appliances, outdoor furniture, electrical components, and fencing industries.These products are sold across the United States, Mexico, South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.


Job Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, driving sales growth, and building strong relationships with clients. This role involves strategic planning, market research, and developing effective sales tactics to expand the company’s client base. The BDM will work closely with internal teams to create tailored solutions, negotiate contracts, and ensure successful client engagement and retention.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of an effective sales strategy to drive sales
  • Prospect for new clients
  • Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Meet potential clients by leveraging your network connections.
  • Able to identify potential clients, and the key decision makers from within those organizations.
  • Plan approaches and pitches.
  • Develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Provide clear and accurate requirements including schematics for Estimating team to properly quote from.
  • Present quotes to customers in a thoughtful and logical manner with a focus on successfully closing the order.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements, and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
  • Present an image that mirrors that of the client.
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and deals properly managed within the company’s CRM. Track and record activity on both customer & prospect engagement; provide individual sales report for weekly sales meeting.
  • Complete monthly SCOTA Report outlining Successes, Challenges, Opportunities, Threats and Action Plan.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client briefs.


Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, enhanced with the following CPA, and a MBA.


Other Qualifications and Experiences

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving business growth, expanding market share, and achieving sales targets.
  • Strong experience in developing and executing strategic plans and sales strategies to generate new business opportunities.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team, with a focus on team performance, collaboration, and development.
  • Expertise in client relationship management, negotiation, and closing high-value deals.
  • Familiarity with CRM software, sales analytics tools, and performance tracking systems.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product, and operations teams to align business strategies and goals.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools.
