Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney at least 2 years to join our team. Please note that for the purposes of calculating experience, most government experience and personal injury experience will not count. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in various legal matters, conducting research, writing legal documents, and negotiating on behalf of clients. The Associate Attorney will primarily work on litigation matters with a focus on property and business litigation.
Duties:
Conduct legal research on various topics related to property and business law.
Draft legal documents such as discovery requests/responses, pleadings, and motions.
Negotiate settlements and agreements with opposing counsel/parties.
Assist in representing clients in court proceedings.
Collaborate with the Partners on complex cases.
Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting business and property law, as well as litigation procedures (e.g., Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, etc.).
Manage case files and maintain accurate records.
Bill at least 6hrs/day
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Admitted to the Texas Bar and currently in good standing (currently on probated suspension does not count as good standing).
Experience with litigation preferred.
Excellent research and writing skills.
Ability to negotiate effectively and communicate persuasively and clearly.
