Job Description
Job Title: Clinical Nurse (ICU)
Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift - 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (Every other weekend + 4th shift per month)
Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU and stepdown experience required
License: Registered Nurse (RN) License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Must-Have: Ability to float within specific divisions, including ICU and Stepdown units. EPIC experience is highly preferred.
Job Description:
- Deliver patient care incorporating the principles of Relationship-Centered Care.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking in patient care management.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
- Prioritize patient care activities, including teaching, rounding, and discharge planning, delegating tasks as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, promoting health, and preventing disease.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Lead in the assignment within the care delivery model and demonstrate efficient use of resources.
- Model the tenets of Relationship-Centered Care to enhance patient experience.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Practice safe, efficient patient-centered care, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in quality and safety practices, implementing process improvement strategies.
- Engage in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes.
- Demonstrate patient-focused and cost-effective approaches to patient care.
- Accurately document nursing practice in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Support professional development and advance clinical competence from novice to expert level.
- Incorporate ethical principles in decision-making for patient and family care.
- Encourage a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, lifelong learning, and innovation.
Education: Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing preferred. An associate degree in nursing is considered with relevant experience or active matriculation in a BSN Program.
