Job Title: Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk

Job #: 16711

Job Type: Full time, permanent

Location: Toronto

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000

Our client, a leading Canadian law firm is currently looking for a Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk. This firm has an excellent culture and a lot of career development opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:


- Handle commercial files from open to close, in a timely manner;

- Prepare transaction documents including closing/security documents, and purchase agreements, title opinions and insurance, leases and mortgage financing documents;

- Perform title and off-title searches, preparing search summaries, and identify any problems;

- Prepare reporting letters and closing books;

- Preparing title requisition letters and responses to title requisition letters;

- Liaise professionally with lawyers, clients, government and quasi-governmental officials;

- Order and negotiate owner and lender policies of title insurance;

- Attending to closings and Teraview registration;

- Prepare client correspondence and requisition letters; and

- Other tasks as required.





Requirements:


- 10 years of Law Clerk experience in Real Estate;

- Law Clerk, Paralegal or Legal Assistant Diploma;

- University degree would be an asset;

- Strong transactional background, including real property acquisitions, dispositions, financings and title searching;

- Working knowledge of procedures, statutes, rules and regulations applicable to real property law;

- Strong technical skills with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);

- Superior knowledge of commercial real estate software (Teraview, TitlePlus, etc.);

- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills;

- Knowledge in Real Estate litigation and procedures; and

- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
