Engineer with top notch skills and a successful track record to join its Statesville, NC operation.
Overview This position is responsible for project installations, retrofits and maintenance support of our Statesville NC facility.
JOB SUMMARY MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES - Plan, implement and install control upgrades, drive systems, and robotics to older equipment in need of retrofit.
- Oversee press retrofits with subcontractors - work with, ensure correct documentation, training, data collection etc.
- Support manufacturing ensuring equipment downtime is minimized through best practices
- Train maintenance personnel in systematic trouble shooting techniques.
- Troubleshooting of equipment controls to identify breakdowns and direct maintenance personnel in proper repair methods.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Assist maintenance department with troubleshooting of PLC/electrical problems and DC/AC drives.
- Determine power requirements for new refurbished machinery.
- Work with electrical contractors to obtain quotes for installation of new feeders, switchgear etc. with an eye towards maximizing substation usage and energy savings.
- Programming and training for existing robotics and implementation of new systems.
- Assist Nebraska facility as needed and implement successful projects from Statesville at their location.
- Create and manage Legacy database for all machine prints, schematics, electronic backups, program backups, etc.
- Ability to understand AC power distribution grid at plant level.
- Understand the job responsibilities in order to perform, monitor and control the process as it affects quality.
- Provide leadership for the maintenance department in the absence of the manager.
- Appropriately record problem or non-conformance to ensure corrective action and preventive measures are taken.
- Assist in the problem-solving process, corrective action and prevention activities.
REQUIREMENTS - At least five years experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics and electronic equipment.
- Must be able to read and understand blue prints, schematics, PLC logic and have hands on experience with PLC programming.
- Must have basic programming skills.
- The ability to solve complex problems and to be able to troubleshoot equipment.
- Must be able to interact and communicate with other functional area managers to ensure that projects and upgrades are completed smoothly in a timely manner and on budget.
- Must be proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office products, Autocad and PLC.
