The person filling the role of Business Development Specialist is responsible for achieving new business growth goals that are based on overall revenue goals set by company leadership. The Business Development Specialist is expected to identify and qualify prospective new clients, build relationships with the appropriate points of contact, and secure the sale of Warren Averett Technology Group services. The Business Development Specialist will work closely with others on the sales team, as well as Project Managers and administrative staff.


Measurements of Accountability

Business Consultants Goals Will Consist of Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly of:

  • # of Contacts Made
  • # of New Prospect Appointments Scheduled
  • # of New Prospect Appointments Attended
  • # of Proposals Delivered
  • # of Proposals Won
  • Meet or exceed assigned gross revenue goals

Example of Expectation of Time Spent on :

1. Develop new accounts 85%

4. Training on products 10%

5. Other assigned tasks 5%

Total 100%

A great business consultant builds trust through their ability to listen and understand, their knowledge, demeanor, and follow through. As a consultant they work closely with prospects and clients to understand their business and offer great advice. They are cognizant of when a prospect or client relationship is not working and is willing to terminate it for the benefit of both parties.
  • Problem Solver – can accurately identify customer problems and skilled at understanding customer pain points. They are effective in positioning WATG as a problem solver.

Minimum Requirements

  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with professional appearance
  • Aptitude for information technology sales
  • 2 to 3 years successful sales experience
  • College degree preferred
  • Client focused mentality
  • Goal oriented
  • Successful history working with larger opportunities
  • Organized and detailed in documentation
  • Successful meeting sales goals
