We are actively looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Seattle office. As part of the Structural Group, the Structural Engineer will perform planning and design for waterfront structures projects, including large and small marinas, ports, terminals, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads, breakwater and shore protection structures. The ideal candidate will have structural analysis, modeling and seismic experience.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Complete analysis, design, inspection of waterfront structures, asset management, submarine systems, and other maritime projects
- Perform structural analysis and design with timber, steel, concrete and composite materials
- Design of pile supported waterfront structures.
- Seismic analysis of structures including pseudo state, nonlinear and time history analysis.
- Develop plans, specifications, and calculations as needed
- Coastal engineering analysis support including evaluation of wind waves, vessel wakes and hydrodynamic conditions to support waterfront facility planning and design
- Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
- Calculate construction quantity estimates and assist is construction cost estimating
- Work closely with other architects, engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projects
- Office construction administration including review of shop drawings and technical submittals
- Perform construction site inspections and prepare inspection reports
- Prepare technical study reports and memorandums
- Assist in public engagement meetings and preparation of presentation materials

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Structural focus. A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering strongly preferred
- Professional Engineer license strongly desired
- 6 to 10 years of structural design with experience or interest in learning to design ports, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, breakwater and/or shore protection structures
- Background on structural modeling with nonlinear elements and/or soil-structure interaction preferred
- Willingness to perform or past experience in Coastal Engineering; desired including:
- Breakwaters, groins, dikes and shore protection structures design.
- Coastal analysis of waves and tidal currents.
- Experience using:
- SAP2000 (required)
- AutoCAD (preferred)
- STAAD (preferred)
- LPile (preferred)
- MicroStation (preferred)
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Base salary range:
$96,815 to $118,329 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.
Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the Washington markets.
Working conditions:
Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
