Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director and working collaboratively with administrative coordinators, this individual assures the provision of quality patient care, manages staff and equipment/materials appropriately, fosters a cooperative and collaborative relationship with the physicians, and establishes and maintains good internal and external customer relationships.The Assistant Manager Nursing Unit assists the Nurse Manager with sharing responsibility for clinical operations, hiring and terminating staff; disciplining and counseling staff and for approving payroll and time records. The Assistant Manager Nursing Unit shares responsibility in quality improvement outcomes and activities of the unit(s) to which they manage.The Assistant Manager Nursing Unit is directly responsible for staff on a particular clinical unit(s). They participate in the budget process and are responsible for day-to-day management of operations. Education And Credentials ResponsibilitiesBachelor of Science in Nursing Required. Registered Nurse Upon Hire required.ExperienceOther information:2 years of experience in a clinical setting required. 1 year of experience in clinical leadership preferred. 1 year of experience in specific clinical service line of assigned department preferred.
