The Director, Marketplace Channel will be a key leader in the business. S/he will lead all growth initiatives on various marketplaces, including all demand generation and fulfillment initiatives to accelerate growth across 25+ countries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the marketplace strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and vision
- Identify target markets and devise market entry strategies, considering cultural nuances, regulatory requirements, and local competitive landscapes
- Adapt the marketplace strategy and offerings based on broader organizational priorities and strategies, ensuring maximum success for the broader organization rather than just the marketplace channel
- Develop, execute, and institutionalize our right to win in each marketplace
- Identify new market opportunities and evaluate expansion plans in collaboration with market research and analytics teams.
- Drive innovation and stay ahead of industry trends to maintain a competitive edge in all marketplaces; efficiently onboard new products ensuring accurate and compelling and distinctive product value propositions
- Present and seek Board alignment on Marketplace Channel strategy and plans
Profitable revenue growth
- Maniacal focus on understanding and meeting consumers’ jobs-to-be-done through marketplace place channel offerings and initiatives
- Consumer segmentation, targeting, and positioning to maximize value creation and value capture from consumers with the highest willingness to pay, stay, and say
- Maximize brand & product trial, repeat, and frequency while differentiating & activating the brand through insightful messaging (search & non-search) and promotions
- Product positioning based on in-depth understanding of approved claims, regulatory risk, and competitive presence
- Leverage mastery of metrics (CRO, CAC, CLV, AOV) and tools (SEO, SEM, SP, SD, SB) to drive margin-accretive revenue growth
- Deliver annual marketplace channel budgeted Net Revenue, Gross Margin, Contribution Margin, and EBITDA
Operational Excellence:
- Lead development of annual channel calendar to maximize consumer trial and repeat, while enhancing brand differentiation
- Identify new package-price opportunities, and collaborate with Brand team to develop offerings that drive household penetration
- New product & package launch leveraging 360-degree trial generation opportunities in the channel
- Streamline and optimize marketplace operations to ensure a seamless experience for buyers and sellers
- Lead fiscal management of the marketplace channel, including sales forecasting, supply planning, and sell-through management
- Actively track unit economics to ensure margin-accretive recruitment and repeat purchases
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes
Partnerships and Stakeholder Management:
- Build and nurture relationships with key partners, suppliers, and stakeholders to foster a strong ecosystem around the marketplace.
- Collaborate with Brand and R&D teams to promote the marketplace channel to a global audience, driving new customer acquisition
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, data privacy laws, and other relevant legal requirements in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.
- Mitigate potential risks related to international transactions and marketplace operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5-7 years of experience with a proven track record of success in international marketplace management or related roles.
- Solid understanding of global e-commerce trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience in scaling online marketplace operations and driving international expansion is a plus.
- Proficiency in data analysis and utilization of relevant tools for market insights.
- Familiarity with international trade regulations and compliance considerations.
