Consumer Loan Processor

The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for processing indirect contracts from dealerships and processing 2nd mortgage loans. The Consumer Loan Processor will also be responsible for loan auditing and keeping abreast of all Purdue Federal products, services and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Second Mortgage Loan Processing (Fixed/HELOC/FHA Home Improvement)

* Process 2nd Mortgage Loans & Prepare for Underwriting & Closing

o Prepare Initial Disclosures and Closing Disclosures

o Review Supporting Documentation & Update Application

o Order Title Searches & verify clear of all liens/judgements, etc.

o Appraisal

o Flood Certifications

o Quit Claim Deeds

o Review of final documents for loan closing such as Hazard Insurance/Quit Claim Deeds, etc.

o Fund and Disburse

* Provide guidance and support throughout Home Equity lending process

* Perfect Purdue Federal CU's lien on all Mortgage Documents with appropriate state and county

* Audit and archive Home Equity files to ensure compliance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.

* Validate and report HMDA Data

* Manage Home Equity pipeline

* Indirect Loan Applications

o Work directly with auto loan dealerships through email and phone calls

o Prepare all indirect loan applications for underwriting review

o Process and fund all final contracts

o Monthly audit of all indirect contracts received for the month

* Assist with testing system & form updates

* Attend trainings for Purdue Federal products and services

* Answer incoming phone calls to the department in a professional and friendly manner

* Assist with monthly reporting

* Collect and distribute mail

Required Skills

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

* Education

o High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

* Experienced

o Minimum 6 months experience in banking and/or customer service

* Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

o Competent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel

o Detail Oriented - Pays close attention to all detail, ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and rules and regulations are followed

o Communication Skills - strong verbal and written communication skills

o Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking - must be able to quickly identify problems, determine potential solutions and take corrective action

o Confidentiality and Ethical Standards - Given the sensitive nature of financial information involved in this role, upholding confidentiality and adhering to the highest ethical standards is essential.

o Teamwork and Collaboration - ability to collaborate with underwriters, other departments, and vendors to ensure smooth processes for closing and funding of loans

o Time Management & Organization Skills - must be able to work efficient and effectively to manage workload and ensure all applications and tasks are processed promptly.

o Ability to follow the core values of honesty, integrity, mutual respect, pride and ownership

Competencies

* Knowledgeable - Must possess an understanding of all Loan Products, Rates & Loan Regulations

* Knowledge of Loan Origination System (LOS) & any Processing Software - must be proficient in working with software to manage and process and close loan applications.

* Adaptability - Due to the dynamic and constantly changing nature of the lending industry, adaptability and a proactive approach is necessary. It is essential to remain up-to-date with evolving rules and regulations, while also maintaining a strong understanding of current market conditions.
