Parks & Recreation Aquatics Facility Assistant, Senior Posting Expires: January 24, 2025 Salary Range: $45,000 - $49,000/annually General Description and Classification Standards The purpose of this job is to perform duties related to the operation and maintenance of a municipal swimming pool and perform other related work as required for the assigned department. This is a team lead or \'foreman\' level position with a formally designated team of skilled employees, either in one or multiple skilled specialties. Lead assignments made on a job-by-job basis would be more appropriately at the Senior level. Supervision Received Works under direct supervision and follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks. Enforces preventative safety measures and provides general lifeguard services (i.e. rescuing swimmers in distress, administering CPR and first aid). Organizes, teaches, and supervises groups and individuals in a variety of aquatic programs and activities. Maintains a safe and clean aquatic environment including but not limited to: pool deck, pool water chemistry, locker rooms, showers, and bathroom. Ensures that all equipment and supplies are adequate and in good condition, and makes recommendations for replacement when necessary. Supervises/manages aquatic facility and staff in the absence of Facility Supervisor. May perform facility opening or closing procedures, as needed, including but not limited to securing facility, finalizing reports, and completing inspections. Decision Making Follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
