This Winnipeg-based role is remote but requires travel to the head office or other project sites for key meetings.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As the Construction Project Manager , you’ll report to the Director of Construction and spearhead the successful expansion of a retail store in Winnipeg. You’ll oversee every phase of the project lifecycle—ensuring budgets, schedules, safety, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction align with our clients high standards.
- Conduct daily site visits to oversee progress and ensure standards are met.
- Lead all aspects of assigned projects, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including Associate Dealers (store operators).
- Enforce compliance with corporate standards, building codes, health & safety regulations, and best construction practices.
- Collaborate with Store Planning, Real Estate, and Development teams to optimize site layout designs and support municipal project approvals.
- Partner with the estimating team to develop precise cost estimates and forecast resources.
- Develop and manage project schedules, establishing milestone dates and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Recommend and engage consultants, contractors, and suppliers through the procurement process.
- Facilitate project close-out requirements and warranty resolutions.
- Coordinate with store staff and Associate Dealers to align construction projects with operational needs.
- Maintain ongoing dialogue with suppliers, account managers, and technical professionals to ensure project alignment.
MUST HAVES:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, or Project Management.
- 5-10 years of project management experience in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) or retail construction projects.
- Expertise in construction contract administration, project financials, and managing consultants.
- Proficiency with Project Management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling tools.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to team success.
- Ability to interpret project cost reports, schedules, and site conditions effectively.
- Flexibility to travel for meetings at the head office or project sites.
