Papich Construction is currently seeking a Construction Payroll Administrator to join our team.

What You’ll Do…

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and processing of weekly payroll. This includes processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and ensuring all steps in payroll processing cycle are complete and accurate. This role is also responsible for performing activities related to labor compliance/certified payroll. This includes creating and submitting certified payroll reports, and ensuring compliance with certified payroll reporting requirements, union labor agreements and federal, state, and local regulations.


Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll on a weekly basis. This includes entering time and reviewing pay computations, wage garnishments, benefits deductions, and tax withholdings in accordance with the appropriate union and government regulations.

·        Enters/reviews new hires, terminations, and other payroll related employee changes into the payroll system in an accurate and timely manner.

·        Responds to employees’ inquiries regarding taxes, deductions and related items that affect paychecks.

·        Investigates payroll discrepancies and calculates back pay adjustments due to employees.

·        Prepares Certified Payroll reports, statements of compliance and statements of non-performance for weekly submission, including weekly submission to customers electronically.

·        Prepares relevant payroll and Certified Payroll reports and spreadsheets, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.

·        Assists management in the preparation of payroll tax returns, assists with accruals, and any additional reconciliation requirements as part of the monthly closing process.

·        Ensures all sensitive employee data is maintained and updated in accordance with relevant policies.

·        Partners with Human Resources with regards to Wage & Hour Compliance and other projects as needed.

·        Partners with Project Management to ensure accuracy and scope of work details needed for preparing union, certified payroll and job costing, etc.

·        Develops and maintains the payroll manual to provide step by step instructions on how to complete payroll and certified payroll tasks in their absence.

·        Reviews and analyzes current payroll practices and procedures; recommends and implements positive changes and solutions.

·        Maintains knowledge and understanding of rules and laws which govern and affect payroll administration practices.

·        Becomes functionally proficient in the Company’s ERP system/software and maintains its data integrity.

·        Complies with all workplace safety policies, procedures, and rules.

·        Sets good example of time management and productivity.

·        Assist with various tasks assigned by management/department.

·        Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without advance notice.

Education and Experience:

·        Three years related experience and/or relevant training.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·        HCSS, Viewpoint knowledge is a plus

·        Construction experience with prevailing wage knowledge is a plus.

·        Payroll Certifications (CPP/FPC) preferred, but not required.

·        Experience with construction industry unions preferred, but not required.

·        Experience with Viewpoint Vista or other construction software helpful, but not required.

 

Work Schedule:

·        Full-time

·        Monday through Friday

Important Notes :

·        This position is based in Arroyo Grande, CA, and requires full-time, in-office/on-site presence. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

·        We are seeking qualified candidates that are available to start immediately.

Work Environment :

Indoor and outdoor as required. Frequent sitting, standing, walking and carrying objects up to 25 lbs is required.
