We are looking for a detail-oriented QA/QC Inspector that possesses an American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential and has knowledge and understanding of Electrical systems. This position will inspect construction methods and workmanship to ensure that contractors and employees complete the work in accordance with plans and specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Observe and inspect ongoing industrial construction work.
• Read, understand, and communicate details of project, pipe, and electrical drawings/blueprints and ensure that work follows plan specifications.
• Maintain a daily activity of work in progress and status of completion and discuss construction related problems with Project Manager.
• File documentation and complete the required technical report forms.
• Assist with project estimating, oversight, & administration.
• Work closely with the Electrical and Pipe Superintendents to evaluate plans and effectively communicate objectives and requirements across departments.
• Evaluates decisions related to Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes.
• Manage decisions related to sub-fabricator and third-party inspection agencies, code conformance, quality issues, to QA/QC personnel.
• Determine disposition, root cause, and corrective action in case of nonconforming products or other customer issues, to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize recurring quality problems.
• Prepare for and represent the company during and after customer audits, to meet customer requirements and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

• Experience performing Industrial Projects (Pulp & Paper, Chemical, Heavy Industrial)
• American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical systems, blueprints, and construction drawings.
• Possess current knowledge of construction including materials, methods, plans and specifications, and associated safety requirements.
• Ability to identify, document, and resolve quality issues efficiently.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and managing document control processes in accordance with applicable standards.
• Commitment to the project needs with the ability and willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends as required to support the project.
• At least 10 years in an industrial construction craft work or quality management system.
• At least 5 years’ experience directly supporting the QA/QC function.
• Expert knowledge with testing equipment, calibration, and interpretation of testing results.
• Emphasis on leadership ability and strong internal/external communications.
• Computer skills in MS Office and other applicable programs.
• Current knowledge of governmental regulatory guidelines relating to industry.
• Required to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work under exposure to inclement weather conditions.
• Experience and knowledge of managing customer concerns.

• Understand and follow Instructions from the Project Manager and Quality Manager.

The job also requires the ability to raise or lower an object of approximately 5-50 pounds from one level to another, the ability to transport an object of up to 50 pounds a distance of up to 10 yards, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder, the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount of force constantly so that an object moves away from the force, and/or the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount of force constantly so that an object moves toward the force.

Must be capable of operating a standard 1/2-ton pick-up for occasional delivery and pick-up of materials and personnel and hold a valid, unrestricted motor vehicle operator's license issued by the state of residence, and the manual dexterity necessary to operate a standard desktop computer keyboard.
