Job Description

LHH seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. The role aims to provide cost-effective solutions to production and engineering challenges, ensuring continuous improvement in manufacturing operations. The anticipated salary for this direct hire role is between $75,000-$90,000 a year.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist Production Supervisors across departments in evaluating manufacturing capabilities and addressing production and quality issues.
  • Recommend improvements in methods of operation, equipment layout, and other changes to optimize production processes or enhance standards.
  • Support the Maintenance Department in troubleshooting, problem-solving, fabrication, assembly, and repair of mechanical components and assemblies for industrial equipment such as power equipment, servo systems, robots, programmable controllers, machine tools, and other manufacturing systems.
  • Design and troubleshoot tooling and fixtures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute capital projects from initiation to implementation, including managing budgets, timelines, and safety protocols.
  • Continuously evaluate current processes and develop strategies to improve safety, productivity, efficiency, and the quality of finished products.
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance; be flexible to cover shifts when needed (e.g., for vacation coverage).
  • Perform other duties as required by the Value Stream Manager.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Engineering or Technical Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited college or university.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Automation experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of LEAN Enterprise principles is required.
  • Proficiency in interpreting business plans and generating actionable steps for the maintenance team.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical documents, including general business periodicals, journals, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presenting information to managers, co-workers, clients, and the public.
  • Proven ability to define problems, collect data, analyze facts, and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical instructions and diagrams involving abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience with broaching, hobbing, and spline rolling machines is a plus.
  • Experience with manual machine processes and capabilities is a plus.
  • CNC Experience is a plus
  • Automation Experience is a plus
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from various groups including managers, co-workers, shop personnel, and customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
