We are seeking a highly skilled senior civil engineer with a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to lead and support the firm’s sanitary sewer design, drainage, and land development efforts. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in civil engineering principles, team leadership, client relationship management, and oversight of infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, on-site, permanent position located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead feasibility studies and site investigations, assessing project requirements, constraints, and innovative solutions
- Oversee and guide the development of engineering designs, calculations, and drawings for sanitary sewer systems, water drainage, and land development projects
- Manage project teams, ensuring efficient coordination with architects, surveyors, contractors, and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives
- Provide advanced analysis to optimize storm water management systems and mitigate risks across projects
- Develop, review, and approve construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex civil engineering projects
- Ensure compliance with local codes, zoning regulations, and environmental requirements through in-depth regulatory reviews
- Conduct and oversee site inspections, offering technical support during construction and resolving complex engineering challenges
- Utilize Civil 3D software and other advanced engineering tools to create detailed models, generate profiles, and perform earthwork calculations
- Lead project meetings, deliver presentations, and maintain strong client relationships through clear and proactive communication
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations
- Stay current on emerging civil engineering technologies and best practices to enhance project outcomes
Minimum qualifications and expectations include:
· Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
· Professional Engineer (PE) license
· Minimum of five to seven years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on sanitary sewer design, drainage, and land development
· Proven experience in project management and team leadership in a technical environment
· Proficiency in using Civil 3D software for design, drafting, and modeling
· Strong understanding of hydraulic and hydrological principles related to water management
· Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing civil engineering projects
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
· Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey project updates, risks, and strategies to diverse stakeholders
· Proficient in project management software and tools
· Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles and practices
